This program provides youths with opportunities for leadership development and character-building in an outdoor setting. Every trip has a curriculum that focuses specifically on sharing of self, self-reflection, team building, stewardship, and leadership that is rooted in a wilderness experience such as canoeing.  

We began our collaboration with Camp Menogyn in 2021 by sending students of Chinese heritage to their canoeing trips in the pristine Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northern Minnesota. We were, and still are, interested in encouraging the well-rounded development of our Chinese youth and to become more aware of our precious but finite natural resources, and learn to be responsible stewards and leaders to protect and preserve our fragile environment.  We were thrilled by the enthusiastic responses these students gave us on this program and are now excited to offer this program again this summer.

We are hoping to expand this program beyond the three Chinese Language Schools and would like your assistance in reaching out to more organizations.  We also would need help reaching the new principal at Minnesota Minghua Central School.  You recall I was trying to have lunch with both of you some time ago.  The invitation still stands!  I would welcome your suggestions on what other schools/organizations to reach out to.  Many thanks!

Tier 1, Bold and Gold experience canoe trip

Dates:    8/11-8/15, 5 days 

Grades:  7-10

Reduced Cost:       $372.4/camper, including the round-trip bus ride from the Twin Cities to Camp Menogyn.
